Our cities are deprived of rich 'public open spaces'. They are mere extensions of sidewalks, or plazas devoid of activities. What was originally planned to activate and serve the public realm is nowadays merely the residue of the surrounding urban fabric. This current situation was the starting point for us to rethink and redefine the nature of the 'public open spaces'. By integrating the concept of public open spaces with the floor-area-ratio, a new typology of architecture may be possible. The architecture will convert the unused 'sky(空)' into rich public 'open spaces(空)'
